XIM University
Xavier Institute of Management
Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar owes its origin to a “Social Contract” between the Government of Odisha and the Odisha Jesuit Society in 1987. It is acknowledged internationally as a world class business school which provides quality management Programs and develops futuristic managers with strong ethics and values.
Xavier Institute of Management not only imparts management education but also implements socio-economic development projects in collaboration with international agencies and the Government. The Institute creates opportunities for the growth and development of the local entrepreneurs, maximizes management research and brings about the overall industrial development of India through various innovative consulting projects. The Management of the Institute is in the hands of a Board of Governors, consisting of representatives of the Jesuit Society, Government of India, Government of Odisha, and eminent industrialists and educationists.

School of Human Resource Management
The School of Human Resource Management owes its origin to XIMB’s HR specialization program. It continues the legacy of shaping HR professionals since 1987. These students are grounded in the vision and values of excellence and ethics set by the XIM University. The curriculum is recognized by Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) USA as confirming with global standards.
Since its inception in 1987, XIMB has offered a functional specialisation in HRM in the PGDM program. A full-fledged 2-year PGDM-HRM program was launched in 2011. This is now offered as MBA-HRM, the flagship program of the School of HRM.
At School of Human Resource Management the focus is on grooming highly effective and competent human resource professionals with a holistic understanding of business, society and government. We empower our students with the knowledge, skills, and long-term vision that lead to innovation, service to society and growth. We groom visionary, competent, committed, compassionate and value-based business leaders.
School of Rural Management
The School of Rural Management of XIM University has emerged from the successful trajectory of the RM program since the latter’s inception in 1995 within XIMB. School of Rural Management is dedicated to developing committed professionals with the contextual understandings, specialized management knowledge and skills necessary to address the unique challenges faced by the organizations engaged in the rural development of India.
The School focuses on nurturing reflective professionals and enlightened knowledge leaders who would enable the effective management of rural institutions, businesses, development programs and civil society organizations, engaged in progressive economic development and social transformation work.
School of Human Settlements
The School of Human Settlements develops and transfers knowledge about building sustainable, liveable and inclusive cities and communities. It also offers programs to develop planning and management expertise for public systems. Its innovative and unique programs are designed to create the professionals needed for sustainable urban and regional development in rapidly transforming geographies. At the core of its graduate degree and other programs are modules for hands-on learning, including in live projects with faculty and organizations engaged in policy development and impact evaluation, technical support and advisory with government, corporate and civil society organizations.
School of Human Settlements post-graduate Programs in Urban Management and Governance are designed for planners, architects, engineers, geographers, economists and others to prepare for a career in developing and managing sustainable cities, towns and other urbanising places. School of Human Settlements endeavours to achieve the social transformation it envisions, by building the professional capabilities of the state, civil society, and corporate initiatives, institutions and organizations engaged in working towards progressive socio-economic change.

School of Sustainabilty
Business corporations, UN agencies, government departments, civil society and other development actors are seeking a different cadre of human resources who can align profit with ecological and social mission.
The School of Sustainability is established in XIM University to fulfil XIM University’s social and environmental mission of bringing about transformation in our society. The School, being the first of its kind in India, aims to create and nurture the next generation of managers and leaders who can anchor and accelerate sustainability as a strategy for economic growth and sustainable human development.
School of Commerce
School of Commerce, one of the constituents of XIM University was founded in 2014 to cater to the ever-increasing demand for commerce education in the country. While setting up the school the objective was not to be just another commerce school in the crowd but to be a center of excellence in the field of commerce education. Since the beginning, the school’s endeavor has been to contribute to the society and meet the demands of the times by creating graduates who can meet the challenges of tomorrow and take leadership positions in a complex environment.

School of Communications
In 2013, Xavier Institute of Management Bhubaneswar evolved into Xavier University, a Jesuit-driven mission to establish a media driven Institution in Odisha and lead to the foundation of School of Communications, XIM University in 2015. The School of Communications (SCOMM) is ranked as the No. 1 Media Institute in the state of Odisha also making it the Best in Eastern India. Since the past years, we have been proudly cracking the rank of being the 6th Best Media Institute across the Nation as well.

School of Economics
The journey of the School of Economics started with a few determined faculty and a handful of B.Sc. students in the year 2017. Eventually, from 2021 the School has begun to offer an M.Sc. program with specializations is Financial Economics and Quantitative Economics. The school now offers a PhD in Economics win the areas of Finance and International Economics.
School of Economics aims to provide students with broad-based knowledge, advanced technical, communication and entrepreneurship skills. The young, research-update faculty is focused on ensuring that the students obtain competency that make them ready for today’s highly competitive world. They get the opportunity to explore and apply their knowledge and skill in the industry by integrating in-depth research, conceptual development, strategic thinking and problem solving. Through carefully planned structure of learning, the students equip themselves with multi-disciplinary skills and practices.

School of Computer Science and Engineering
The School of Computer Science & Engineering is a unique school that leverages the high-quality programs of XIM University and emphasizes sound computer science fundamentals, coding, research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. It currently offers B.Tech. (Hons.) in Computer Science & Engineering, M. Tech in Computer Science & Engineering, and Ph.D in Computer Science and Engineering. Its current faculty mostly has Ph.D and/or postdoctoral experience from IITs/IISc or abroad. It is mentored by Prof. Chitta Baral from Arizona State University, Prof. Prasant Mohapatra from the University of California Davis and Dr. Ashutosh Dutta of Johns Hopkins University.

Xavier Law School, located in the pristine green of sub-urban Bhubaneswar, is an initiative to educate, train and develop preciously talented young persons to socially responsible law professionals. Xavier Law School imbibes academic excellence through a commitment to rigorous teaching, scholarly research and innovative application of knowledge. As a part of the innovation, Xavier Law School is equipped with digitally enabled modern Moot Court Hall, best of the class e-resources through e-Pathsala initiative and a collection of legal classics/books/journals to facilitate capacity building among students.
