The University

Xavier University was established on July 6, 2013 as per the provisions of the Xavier University, Odisha Act, 2013. On 11th May 2021, the Xavier University, Odisha (Amendment) Act 2021 was passed in the Odisha Legislative Assembly, renaming Xavier University as XIM University. XIM University consists of thirteen schools: Xavier Institute of Management, School of Human Resource Management, School of Rural Management, School of Sustainability, School of Human Settlement, School of Commerce, School of Communications, School of Economics, School of Computer Science and Engineering, Xavier Law School, School of Governance and Public Affairs, XAVIER-EMLYON Business School and School of Liberal Arts

XIM University application form can be filled up through online mode only hosted on our website www.xim.edu.in . You will, therefore, need access to an internet enabled computer to apply to our program(s).

Yes, you may apply to XIM University’s UG program even if you are continuing your Class – 12; subject to completing the final part of the board examinations and expecting your final results during the year 2024 with a minimum percentage of marks (refer Table-1).

No, there is no upper age limit for the prospective applicants.

You can surely apply for more than one program at XIM University, but you will have to choose the individual programs in the online application form. The total application fee will be calculated by the system. You need to use a single form for applying to multiple programs.

Yes, before filling up the online application form get ready with a valid email ID, academic credentials, and the digital copy (in prescribed size/pixel format) of your pass port size photograph and signature.

No, once you submit the filled application form, editing of data is not possible.

No, you need not send any hardcopy of the documents/credentials to XIM University until and unless asked to do so.

However, in case you have filled the application before the announcement of your Class-12 result, you must report us your academic transcripts/mark sheets, via email to ugadmission@xim.edu.in immediately after the announcement of your Class-12 result.

FEES

The application fee is INR 1400.00 for the first choice/option and INR 300.00 each for every subsequent choice/option. The application fee is non-refundable in nature.

You may avail educational loans from nationalized banks, e.g. SBI, South Indian Bank, Central Bank of India are the major banks providing study loans. For more details, please visit the bank branch.

INTERVIEWS / RESULT

A holistic selection process aims at determining both the fulfilled and potential merit of an applicant. Candidates will be evaluated on their consistent academic performance, active engagement outside the curriculum, and personal impact in terms of challenges they might have faced and overcome.

Although we are conducting Written Test/Personal Interview of all shortlisted candidates for all of our programs, our admission procedure is different for all individual schools (see table-1) above or refer our UG Admission Bulletin 2024. 

Selected candidates will be notified by email and letter individually.

ADMISSION

The selected candidate must book the seat by paying a token amount as mentioned in the offer letter. The balance and other fee payments for the second semester onwards are to be made within the due dates to be announced separately.

No, there is no provision to defer the admission. The conditions for accepting the admission offer will be mentioned in the offer letter.

The amount will be refunded after deducting the administrative expenses within 4 weeks.

This admission offer and/or admission will stand cancelled if you –

* Have not complied with provisional acceptance date, or

* Do not register for the first academic semester on the given date, or

* Do not produce the required certificates at the time of registration, or

* Do not complete the requirements of your intermediate examination before the date of registration in this University.

HOSTEL

No, as our UG programs are not residential, hostels are not compulsory for all the students. However, they may opt for hostel and separate hostels are there in the campus for boys and girls. There are twin sharing rooms available @ Rs. 28,000/- per semester.

Yes, localite can avail the hostel @ Rs. 28,000/ per semester. The University provides limited hostel facilities (double sharing) to the students joining this program. Priority will be given to students coming from outside Bhubaneswar. Students who wish to avail hostel facilities are required to pay the fee accordingly. However, the final allotment will depend on availability.

 At XIM University, we take the safety of all our students seriously. Students are not allowed to leave campus without prior parental permission which is then reviewed and approved by the Hostel Incharges.

The approx. expenses will be around Rs. 4000-5000 per month. The student will have to incur other food and/or miscellaneous expenses and the same will not be collected by the University. The students have to pay to the mess contractor directly.

There are separate residences for gents and ladies. The mess is managed by a student’s committee and serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals. The X-Café provides a variety of fast food to the students who work till late night. The facilities at XIM  University includes 24-hour internet connectivity through the latest Wi-Fi technology, laser printing and photocopying machines, multi-purpose hall, co-operative store, book club, washing machines, water coolers, geysers, telephones, televisions, undisturbed power supply, different indoor games space, a campus doctor, nurses, 24×7 ambulance for medical emergency, CCTV surveillance, security people for safety, bank branch and ATM machines etc.

A tuck shop and a cooperative store are available on campus for students to purchase both fresh and packaged food, and other general provisions.

CLASSES

Class sizes vary. Large introductory classes may have over 60 – 100 students in a lecture format, but these classes are complemented by smaller recitations of around 30 students.

 

Classes are usually conducted between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. However, please note that evening classes might also be conducted as required by Professors and Students.

There are more than 140 full-time faculty members in XIM University, apart from a big pool of eminent part-time and visiting faculty from academia and industry.

XIM University Professors are very accessible. Every professor holds weekly office hours. In cases where the student is unable to meet during standard office hours, he/she may call or email the professor to set up an appointment. Professors are available to assist students with class material and also with department class selection, areas of research, graduate study, and careers.

Students accepted to XIM University prove to excel in their school studies. The great majority complete their undergraduate program within prescribed years. At any time, less than one percent of XIM University undergraduates are on academic probation as a result of poor performance and even fewer are placed on mandatory leave of absence, or dropped from the program for academic failure.

Apart from the academic sessions, students are free to approach professors for one-on-one sessions on areas of difficulties for all subjects. If the professor should be unavailable during a particular period, the Dean’s Office will help students with all their queries as well as work with them for a longer period to overcome any challenges if they should need assistance.

The course is rigorous and undergoing training outside campus will be difficult for students. However, students can opt for training facilities available on campus.

XIM University is probably one of the very few Universities in India and South Asia which has been able to harness the full strength of digital learning and virtual education and thereby leveraged high assurance of learning during the COVID pandemic. We have digitalized library resources, excellent IT infrastructure and our own AIS (Academic Information System). The University due to its superior technology backbone and strong digital infrastructure is perfectly poised to provide the best teaching-learning experience during these challenging times.  

The 1st, 2nd and 3rd position holders of any branch is shortlisted for the Admission Interview for MBA – RM, SM and UMG programs without the Admission Test scores (CAT, XAT, GMAT, NMAT, XGMT etc.). However, the selection/shortlisting to MBA programs is typically done based on the test scores, academic credentials, and personal interview.

MISCELLANEOUS

The distance of the New Campus of XIM University  from Bhubaneswar Railway Station and Biju Pattnaik International Airport, Bhubaneswar, is 17 kilometers and 15 kilometers respectively.

The Old Campus and New campus of XIM University is situated in 55 acres of well-maintained compact campus with all the facilities befitting a world-class B-School. The campus houses air-conditioned classrooms with audio visual facilities and LCD projectors, spacious libraries with over 75,000 books and subscribe to over 20,000 journals (including electronic journals), separate hostels for boys & girls in the premise with LAN nodes in every rooms, Mess facility with vegetarian & non-vegetarian meals, 24-hour internet connectivity through the latest Wi-Fi technology , 1355 MBPS leased line internet support, round-the-clock printing & copying facility, campus doctor, nurses and ambulance for 24×7 aid, security guards and CCTV surveillance. The recreational facilities include cricket & soccer fields, floodlit basketball & lawn tennis courts, indoor badminton hall, gymnasium, jogging tracks etc.

XIM University has an active Student Life department which is committed to engaging students outside of the classroom. We currently have several student-run clubs and societies on campus, in addition to music, arts, dance, and sports opportunities.

Yes, students can avail the transport facility on payment basis. The actual amount will be intimated in due course. These buses will ply from Bhubaneswar City to Campus and back.

It is mandatory to possess a laptop, while you are a student of School of Computer Science and Engineering. But it is not mandatory to possess a laptop for other programs/schools, while you are a student of the UG program of XIM University. But you may own a laptop for enhancing your competitional abilities and facilitate other academic activities.

The key to a successful learning environment is structure. XIM University houses solar-powered and air-conditioned classrooms, labs, multi-media halls, with excellent ventilation and ample natural lighting. The classroom complex features public address system, ergonomically designed age-appropriate furniture, CCTV surveillance system, wide corridors and stairwells, fire prevention system and deployment of security personnel. XIM UNIVERSITY is committed to the well-being and safety of our students, faculty, and staff. The University has taken enough measures to handle the Covid-19 Pandemic situation.

No, XIM University does not offer any distance education program. All programs are full-time at XIM University.

Yes, XIM University does have Scholarship provisions for UG Programs. Refer the detail below:

  • Scholarship for the SC, ST, ECO BW/MINORITY – 3 each/year/program with 30% of the course/tuition fee as scholarship for 1st year+.
  • Meritorious scholarship – topper of each university program at the end of the year will get scholarship worth 30% of the course/tuition fee as scholarship+.
  • Students with 90% score in +2 examination will be provided scholarship worth 30% of the course/tuition fee only+. This offer will be continued if the student secures a minimum CGPA of 8.5 in each of the subsequent years.

+ After registration and verification of original documents. The student has to apply for scholarship by following the XIM University Scholarship Guidelines.

Yes, the career advancement courses such as mentoring and coaching for MBA entrance exams (CAT, XAT), CA, CS, Civil Services (IAS, IPS, IFS, OAS, etc.) will be made available on campus (on payment basis), subject to a minimum number of student enrolments; conditions apply.
