Prescriptive Analytics which is the ending paradigm of Analytics aims at providing actionable decisions to help the managers in achieving the objectives of their business subjecting to the constraints that pose as the limitations to achieving the objective. This course aims at mathematical formulation of the business problems at hand by writing algebraic equations depicting the objective to be attained and along with the constraints on the resources. It will start by discussing formulations of very basic business problems such as product mix problem, staff planning problem, production planning problem, cutting stock problem, water piping network design problem, project network problem knapsack problem etc to the complex versions of the same problem and solving the same problems with excel solver and python. Afterwards the most prominently predominant problems in reality entitled Integer Programming or Discrete Optimization problems will be introduced with the help of capital budgeting problems, set covering problems, sequencing and scheduling problems, vehicle routing problems etc will be introduced with the help of numerous real examples and will be solved using python.
