The IQAC & HR Department of XIM University organized a series of Staff Development Programs through May 2026, aimed at strengthening the professional, digital, and personal capabilities of the University’s Non-Teaching Staff (NTS).
AI Sensitization Workshops for Non-Teaching Staff
The month began with two AI Sensitization workshops, held on 13 May at the Old Campus and 14 May at the New Campus. Designed to build familiarity with Artificial Intelligence and its applications in administrative work, the sessions combined expert-led talks, live demonstrations, and hands-on activities.
Dr. Mahamaya Mohanty opened proceedings with an overview of AI tools and techniques spanning conversational assistants, content generation, research support, and image generation, introducing participants to platforms such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity AI, Copilot, NotebookLM, Grammarly, QuillBot, DeepSeek, Adobe Firefly, and DALL-E, with a focus on effective prompt engineering.
Dr. Ashish Kumar followed with a session on applying AI to everyday administrative tasks — drafting communications, preparing reports and minutes, translation, and building searchable digital repositories — while also addressing data privacy, human verification, and responsible AI use.
Participants then put their learning into practice through hands-on activities including AI-assisted document verification, automated data entry, and duplicate record detection, before testing their understanding in an interactive quiz conducted by Dr. Chandan Misra, Dr. Swarup Chattopadhyay, and Dr. Ashish Kumar. The workshops left participants more confident in using AI tools and eager for further training.
Professional Skills, Operational Efficiency & Institutional Contribution
On 23 May, staff from both campuses came together for a session led by Dr. Paramjyoti Singh of XLRI, focused on workplace professionalism, operational efficiency, and institutional commitment. The discussion covered effective communication and workplace ethics, time management and process improvement, and the role non-teaching staff play in advancing the University’s mission — closing with an interactive exchange of experiences and practical solutions among participants.
Mental/Emotional Wellbeing & Stress Management
The month concluded on 29 May with a session on Mental/Emotional Wellbeing and Stress Management, led by Dr. Pooja Mohanty of XLRI at the New Campus. The session explored emotional resilience and conscious decision-making, healthy approaches to anger management, and awareness around suicide prevention, along with the emotional and personality-related challenges faced by children and students. An interactive discussion rounded off the program, giving staff practical guidance on maintaining work-life balance and emotional wellbeing.
Looking Ahead
Together, these three programs reflect XIM University’s ongoing commitment to the holistic development of its staff — building digital literacy, professional competence, and personal wellbeing in equal measure.
